Sensor dome popped off, and light stopped working. I've purchased solar powered lights previously and that was a waste of cash. It only illuminates when I open up the front door at a distance of about ten feet. Some of the other options used AA batteries. I installed it and was extremely dissatisfied. If you're stuck with no possible ways to run the wires maybe this is the only practical choice. Thinking about getting two more for the other darkish recesses in our hallway. These lights worked so great I purchased more of them! However the one that worked the very best and still got the most crucial job of lighting my stairway to the living room every time somebody comes on or near my stairs, is the SE Wireless Movement Sensor Light - 10 Super-Bright LED. You will find three positions, OFF, ON for motion, and ON continuously. This little light works good. No mechanical issues with the two I used.To date, so great. I will place one on my car port and I really hope it works equally well.As these come in a 2 pack, we use the other on our motor-home. We're happy with this particular light. The solar lamp post is fragile and will die if you drop them even once. I give this porch lighting product 1 star because it will not let me give it zero stars. We bought it because our fridge light has died on us (and no, changing the bulb did not help). I purchased this for a neighbor who had been having trouble navigating a fence door at night.Time will tell but I am happy with both lights. Nevertheless, you won't want to look straight at the solar lamp post, so it must be mounted at the top of a vertical surface. The easy thing to this is, you simply put in the double batteries need and watch it work.We have a 4'x6' dark region in our basement. It's LED. If you go out to get some thing beyond the sensor's range, the light turns off sooner than you need - you are on your own in the dark. You will find much better choices out there. In my opinion, the sensor range is much less than the description states (I figure 3 to 4 feet). It appears as though half the time I have my hands too full to hit the switch, and also the other half of the time my son will neglect to turn off the light. The light is not as bright as my spouse or I would find ideal, however they get the job done.

It would be good if the porch lighting units could sense light and just come on if needed. I initially rated this BQ lighting with 4 stars (minus 1 star due to there being no daylight sensor).
